Chok is built to keep your skincare data yours. We designed it to collect as little as possible.
Your routines, logs, photos, and skin profile are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, this data syncs privately between your own devices through Apple's iCloud (your private CloudKit database). We cannot read it. There is no Chok account and no Chok server that stores your personal data.
Chok contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share data.
If you subscribe to Chok Pro and use an AI feature (Coach chat, Photo-to-Shelf matching, routine drafting, weekly insights), the text needed for that request is sent to our processing service to generate a response. Photo-to-Shelf processes images on your device using Apple's Vision framework — photo images never leave your device; only the recognized text is sent for product matching. AI requests are not linked to an identity (there is no account) and are not used to advertise to you.
Chok does not collect face data. The app uses no facial recognition, facial mapping, or face-tracking technology, and requests no such permissions. The camera is used only to photograph skincare products and their labels; that processing happens on your device. Progress photos you choose to add to your journal are ordinary images stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your private iCloud database. They are never analyzed for facial features, never shared with Chok or any third party, and are retained only until you delete them (in the app, or by deleting the app and its iCloud data).
Chok is not directed to children under 13.
You can delete all your data at any time from Settings inside the app, or by deleting the app and removing its iCloud data from your Apple ID settings.
